Flags

This is the first flag i have attempted to make, let me know what you guys think, it is the Japanese Kanji for Shadow. it is just a rough draft im still working on so all input is appreciated...if you have any designs you would like to try just post them here.

I have made alot of changes to the flag i will post them later i think it looks alot better now but i have a few more tweaks before i post the final version.

ok here is my newer version it has a cloth texture and is weathered to add realism...let me know what you think.

Ok i got some help for these last two from Din85 on the PoBS forums so special thanks out to him .... i think these are by far the best ones yet.

I submitted both flags for approval so if you get a chance go over and give them a good review

Aye very nice flags i like the whole Ninja Pirate feel and i think they fit the Legions Shadowy nature

One question though, will it be mandatory all of us use one of those flags or can we use whatever flag we want? just wondering but good job on those and maybe you should try to make some more

Personally, I like the white on black that Din85 helped you create.

Yea the white on black is the best one imo but i do like the red aswell... i am terrible at this stuff so basically i just made the basic design then i gave it to din and he polished it up nice

About if these are the mandatory flags for the society, no you can have whatever flag you want though we will encourage you to use our flag it will not be mandatory.

About the meaning of the Kanji on my flag, i checked the meaning with about 5 different sites and they all say it means Shadow so i am going to go with it some of the sites seemed pretty reliable. But of course we never know all 5 sites could be 100% wrong and it means "retarded" but i feel pretty confident it means shadow.

I find it hilarious when people get Kanji tattoos they think mean Love or something and it really means Prostitute, that is why you need to do your homework on this stuf.

OK, just voted for your flags, both. I figure you can have the final call. However I must agree with, Charming Julia, that the white on black is easier to read. The red has a tendency to get lost in the black field.

Oh cool glad your flag got approved, how long did it take to get approved? just wondering about how long it will take... i mean i guess we have plenty of time to wait but still pirates are meant to be impatient right?

and yea i like the white and black better also but hopefully they both get approved so i can use them both, im working on some more designs now.

Its pretty simple to get a flag design done the hard part (for me atleast) is getting the texturing and all that done well but its still alot of fun to see what you can come up with.

And i have always liked Japanese history and culture and have always been in love with the calligraphy i think there kanji is like artwork really, so the idea for the flag came easy to me and as far as i know it is an original idea i havent seen any other Kanji on flags.

As I recall you will need 25 votes to get over the first hurtle. Then you wait for the dev to get to it and give a thumb's up or down. The time seems to very but recently they seem to be moving faster. I would check your PotBS site at least once a week.
